The advanced technology used in today's manufacturing industry can be exploited to great advantage by the model engineer. By using indexable insert carbide tooling, changing a cutting edge becomes a simple and quick exercise. After removing a screw, the cutting insert can be indexed to a fresh edge, re-tightened, and a new edge presented to the workpiece; typically within .002 ins of the position of the previous, worn edge. This eliminates the need for regrinding and resetting tools, and gives a perfect cutting edge every time.
