Turning Insert

On small format machines, where mainly finishing cuts are applied, it is advisable to select the smallest possible corner radius. This helps to reduce vibration and therefore gives the best chance of obtaining excellent surface finishes at higher speeds.

However, where rough or intermittent cuts are to be taken, remember that a bigger radius gives a stronger corner. Coupled with slower speeds, this is often the best solution.
