95 deg Boring Bar.
SCLCR boring bars use the two 80º corners of CCMT inserts mounted at 95º to the axis of the lathe. Their shape allows straight boring to a shoulder, as well as internal facing cuts. This is the most versatile (and most widely sold) bar, and will cover most jobs. (Uses the same inserts as our smaller SCLCR turning tools)
The 8mm diameter bar can bore a minimum hole diameter of 10mm.
The 10mm diameter bar can bore a minimum hole diameter of 12mm.
The 12mm diameter bar can bore a minimum hole diameter of 16mm.
The 16mm diameter bar can bore a minimum hole diameter of 20mm.
Steel shank, positive rake boring bars can generally work with overhangs of up to 5 times the boring bar diameter. With greater depths than this, there is more chance of the tool developing vibration.
